Dr. Sigourney Weathers PT, DPT

Sigourney is the owner and physical therapist at Balanced Creations Physical Therapy. She has 15 years of experience helping children of all ages reach their full potential. She is passionate about providing inclusive environments and opportunities for children. She finds that getting to know the family and child, working with their "village," and continually educating herself leads to amazing success stories.

Sigourney graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2012 with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology, Pre-PT, and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University, in 2017. After graduation, she completed her Rebound Therapy Practioner certification in 2018 and Tutor certification in 2019.

Sigourney has been a gymnastics instructor for 15 years. She specializes in developmental gymnastics, Rebound Therapy (trampoline/gymnastics for children with special needs), competitive Trampoline & Tumbling, and aerial silks.

She is a member of USAGymnastics which allows her to treat and teach clients in a safe accredited gymnastics facility where we always #SmileUpsideDown.

While working as a professional pediatric physical therapist, she noticed that there was a lack of community involvement and inclusion for her clients after discharge from care. Sigourney wanted to change this. In 2020 she started this goal by merging the two (PT and gymnastics) and starting Balanced Creations PT, PLLC. She discovered that merging the two would allow for a seamless transition from PT services to the carryover of functional recreational activities in the community.

Jenai Goodwin, CTRS

We are happy to announce that Jenai is offering rebound therapy at our Springtown, Texas Location

Jenai is a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) completing her Master of Science degree through the State University of New York at Cortland in 2018. Due to the wonders of the internet, there was no need to leave Texas to complete coursework in obtaining this advanced degree which concentrated on Therapeutic Recreation. Jenai returned to college after discovering this field when wondering what the next stage of life would hold as her youngest child prepared to graduate high school. She also holds national certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and is a member of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) and the Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS).

Since graduation, Jenai has worked with clients having varied intellectual and developmental abilities as well as working with children displaying serious mental, emotional, and behavioral issues. Working with a client who had issues walking and hesitated at changes in colors on the pavement or with various surfaces, etc., she saw firsthand the wonder of how rebounding can be therapeutic. When this client was introduced to the trampoline, they immediately displayed no fear and started jumping, at first with hands-on assistance and later needing no hands-on assistance. For the first time in a very long time, this client was able to engage in fun leisure which also provided meaningful physical benefits such as a cardiovascular workout, along with other mental, emotional, and social benefits. After this, Jenai investigated how a trampoline could be incorporated into her practice and found Rebound Therapy USA getting certified in May 2021. She is excited to add this beneficial activity to her recreation therapist toolbox to help others have fun and enjoy measurable benefits in different parts of their being.

Jenai believes there are no limits to what many can accomplish with limitations often put on individuals by those around them or through barriers in society. This applies to those with various ability levels as well as various ages. Jenai is currently in discussion with her alma mater planning to conduct a research study about Rebound Therapy and is the owner of Joyfully Free Recreation Therapy and Wellness, LLC.
